THE FORMER ROYAL SAMARITAN HOSPITAL

The Association in partnership with its subsidiary company, Govanhill Community Development Trust, has secured a total of £3.1 million for the conversion of one of the two remaining blocks at the Samaritan.

Following our recent £4 million housing redevelopment within the Samaritan site, the Association is now taking forward proposals to provide an Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Centre. The development will feature a community education campus provided by Langside College, conference /community hall, commercial and enterprise workspaces and new offices for the Association, the Trust, GOSIP and the Local Housing Organisation.

Funding sources include Strathclyde European Partnership, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and Communities Scotland. We hope to start work in Spring 2004 with completion in early 2005.
