MERGE GROUP (Minority Ethnic Resident Group Empowerment) 

A group for residents with an ethnic minority background . The  MERGE group hold a weekly coffee morning where they discuss any issues which they are facing. The group hold sessions on different topics such as health and wellbeing and organise regular training sessions for members. Previous activities have included photography, sewing and flower arranging. 

Govanhill Community Garden


Situated in the grounds of  Samaritan House is a Community Garden run by tenants, members of the Community and local volunteers.  The group organise regular gardening sessions, a Men’s Group and events with Govanhill Housing Association. The garden also home to the Govanhill Remembrance Garden, a quite place where local people can remember their loved ones.  The Govanhill Community Garden Group have an active Facebook Page and are usually available in the garden on Wednesdays from 1-4pm.  Anyone interested in getting involved should contact Gillian, or alternatively you can visit the garden on a Wednesday afternoon for a cup of tea and a chat. 

Merrylee Tenant and Resident Organisation

Based in Merrylee, the group hold a weekly coffee morning in local bowling club, where they have bingo and  yoga sessions for older residents.  They also organise events that support the community and have an impact locally.
